THE FUTURE

Dear Passerby,

As a team, we all put a great deal of time and effort into this project. It was an opportunity to exercise our creative muscles and put each of our individual skills to the test!

For the viewers and random fellows who stumble upon our project, we hope that The Melting Pot makes you think about the word "sustainability". Typically when we hear this word, we conjure up positive thoughts and associations, (recycling, eco-friendly, ecological balance, planet health). With our animated short, we wanted to turn the idea of sustainability on its head and make people consider a darker possibility. (After all, the definition of sustainability is, "the ability to be maintained at a certain rate or level"....)

This semester has undoubtedly been one of the most challenging semesters of our college careers. We had to figure out how to create an entire animated short story without the ability to meet face to face. This class had taught us how to overcome the limitations of online-only interaction and how to embrace the forms of digital communication that we are fortunate to have access to. With the future of the business world at stake due to COVID-19, we believe that this project was an excellent example of how we may have to conduct our work and business going forward.

Overall, I hope that this project serves the members of Group 10 as a reminder of our combined hard work and resilience! I think it would be wonderful to revisit this project in a few years and push he idea even further! Perhaps we could create a sequel, or we could re-create the project with more skills under our belts.

Although we have yet to meet in person, Group 10 is hopeful for the opportunity to come together to celebrate our outstanding accomplishment soon. Cheers to surviving the craziest year yet!

With Love,

Lauren Price
