Our project is a short story told via animatic. The story follows our protagonist, Niku, as she enters a seemingly perfect society called, ‘The Melting Pot’. The Melting Pot is one of the only functional civilizations left after a global disaster, and Niku is a desperate survivor. She initially accepts the odd rules and customs of her new home, like being assigned to a ‘family unit’ and eating primarily canned food. She learns that The Melting Pot is extremely sustainable. There is no overpopulation and resources are unlimited all thanks to the process of recycling. After finding out how far ‘recycling’ actually goes however, Niku questions whether a sustainable paradise is worth sacrificing her morals...
